Grand President Bangkok

Grand President - 14,16 Sukhumvit Soi 11
I just had a chance to check out the newly renovated Grand President Bangkok Hotel. I've already made a few reviews of other guest friendly hotels on Sukhumvit Soi 11 but I was waiting for cheaper rates to make this review.

And that's not to say that the Grand President is an expensive hotel. Because it's not. It's a true 4 star hotel that I think most can afford. Besides, they've got a lot of competition in around Soi 11 such as Le Fenix Sukhumvit and President Palace Hotel. So the recent hotel renovation should put them up on par with the rest.

And because there are two major clubs to pick up Thai freelancers in the area it's no wonder why a lot of hotels on Suk 11 are very popular.

Plus it doesn't hurt that Sukhumvit Soi 11 is right between Soi Cowboy and Nana go go bars. And there are countless of massage parlors around whether you're looking for a traditional or one with extras.

Standard Room
Because the Grand President is actually a serviced apartment all of the rooms have a kitchenette with full housekeeping service.

Don't worry, you're not required to sign a lease. Guests are welcomed to stay for as short as they want or for long as they wish.

And it's a massive hotel property with over 400 guest rooms divided among 3 buildings. And each building has its own swimming pool, fitness rooms and a section with washer and dryers to do your own laundry.

Right now a standard room cost about 1650THB for a night with taxes. And that's not bad for a room that's 26 sq. m. in size. It's the room type I stayed in recently and I have to say it's a huge improvement since the last time I stayed at Grand President 5 years ago.

Or if you've got the cash to flash how about spending it on a junior suites that's 56 sq. m. huge. It has one bedroom and a living room that's connected to a bigger kitchenette. As of writing a junior suite will set you back around 3000THB per night including taxes and breakfast.

For your reference here's a no joiner fee confirmation from Grand President:
Dear Jim Hunt,

In regard to your query, you can bring your joiner fee to stay overnight without any charge.

Best Regards
