Intro to Kuala Lumpur's Nightlife

Pavilion Mall - A popular shopping center in the heart of Bukit Bintang, KL
I've been away for awhile in Malaysia on business, staying most of my time in Kuala Lumpur. And of course in Asia where there is business there is always places of pleasure to finalize and seal deals.

Even though in Malaysia prostitution is illegal (just like it is in Thailand) the authorities sort of turn a blind eye to the trade. I say sort of because there are cracks downs and raids. But the sex saunas I mention right here have been in business for a long while and perhaps have the right connections to stay longer in business. Who knows?

For newbies, perhaps the best reason for checking out KL's commercial sex scene is that its so easy to find brothels. The hotel where I was staying at I didn't need to take a taxi or train. I could easily walk from one place to the other. Sure, you might break a little sweat because KL's weather can get hot. But breaking some sweat is a small price to pay for finding a lovely lady.

So there are no go go bars or any establishments where sex for sale are obvious. But there are massage parlors and saunas disguised as brothels, which is the most common type of establishment where local men and tourists go to pay for sex with hookers. And most of these establishments are inside offices and also shared commercial buildings. Inside office buildings if you see a sign saying "Health Spa" it's pretty much a place where guys can go to pay for sex.

And there are quite a lot of sauna/brothel establishments all around Kuala Lumpur. But the best thing of all is that all of these "health spas" are located right in the heart of the city's center of Bukit Bintang.

Jalan Bukit Bintang - A major street in the area
Bukit Bintang is a major tourist center. There are shopping malls upon luxury shopping malls and then some. Plus there are many restaurants from Chinese, Arab, Indian and of course local Malay cuisine. And if you're the fast food kind of guy then you won't have a problem finding a KFC and a McDonald's.

And in Bukit Bintang there are 8 sex saunas and massage parlors all within walking distance. And it is possible to walk from one to the other.

Because this is such a busy and popular area where you as a tourist want to get laid I really recommend finding a hotel right in Bukit Bintang. And there are many hotels in the area and most of them you don't really have to spend a whole lot of money.

There are many budget boutique hotels starting from $30USD. And many budget hotels in Bukit Bintang are good quality though the rooms may be a bit tight. If you can spend around $75USD then you can get yourself some decent digs. Also in Bukit Bintang you'll find all the top notch 4 to 5 star hotels names like Grand Millennium, Marriott and Sheraton.

I have a list of hotels right in the Bukit Bintang area here where you can check out because they are very near the sex saunas I will be reviewing. I do not recommend staying too far away and relying on trains and taxis. Though both modes of transportation are affordable why waste time spending it on traveling?

Health Spas for men in Kuala Lumpur are basically brothels. Not all health spas are the same though and some oddly even when they're called "health spas" they have no spa facilities at all. Only hookers. Which is fine for some.

But the business of saunas with happy endings massages are big business. Many locals go to these places to get laid, get a decent massage by an actual masseuse, enjoy a steam room and jacuzzi with a group of friends or even business associates.

There are also foreigners too but mainly from neighboring areas like Singapore, Indonesia and even from Hong Kong and Japan. Once in a while you will find Westerners strolling in though only in the easiest to get to saunas like Genesis and E2 Spa.

However, I've never seen Westerners use the sauna and jacuzzi facilities. They usually just go in and have a look at the ladies available.

This is a view in in front of Pavilion Mall

Of the full month that I've been in Kuala Lumpur's sex saunas I was the only pasty ghost face making full use of the available facilities. And I quite enjoyed the establishments like Saboon Spa and E2 Spa's facilities, lounging around in a saunas and steam rooms followed by a dip in the jacuzzi. Why not after all? It's cheap and the price includes unlimited food.

Now you're probably wondering about the freelance scene in KL. I haven't mentioned it that much because I am a bit biased. For me street hookers are an after thought. It's easy to find them in KL bars where most Johnny Foreigners hangs out.

The most well known is Beach Club Cafe on 97 Jalan P Ramlee. I've been there more than a few times and yes they've got hookers. While I was there most of them were Thai. I would say a large percentage are Thai with Filipino girls second followed closely by Vietnamese gals.

But to me, at the time none of them were what I would call 'attractive'. The ladies working in the sauna spas are better looking and believe me it's a whole lot cheaper too. I was quoted by a Thai girl inside Beach Club RM 400 for 1 hour short time. That's 3600THB. Either she's really desperate for hard cash or I have the words "Sucker" tattooed on the back of my neck.

I suppose I could negotiate but there's no point in haggling over a cow when in the end you're not going to purchase.

There are other avenues for finding some bedside company. If you have WeChat app installed on your smartphone you can find hookers who provide massage services and even ladyboys. Just click the "Discover" icon and select "People Nearby". If you're in the Bukit Bintang area where I highly recommend you to stay in you will see what I'm talking about.
